General Final Regulations 2026

The World Dance Competition is organized by

PART 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION

Art. 1 – Purpose of the Event
The International Final of the World Dance Competition 2026 will take place from November 27 to 29, 2026, at the Teatro Verdi in Montecatini Terme. During the event, the official winners of the various disciplines will be announced (see full list here).

Art. 2 – General Program

Event start: Friday, November 27 at 9:30 AM
Event end: Sunday, November 29 at 6:00 PM

The full schedule will be released 15 days before the event. Participants are advised to be present on site at least 1 hour before the indicated times in case of schedule changes.

Art. 3 – Access to the Final
Access to the Final is possible through one of the following methods:

3.1 – Official Selections: direct access through a scholarship awarded during Official or Partner Selections, both in Italy and abroad.
3.2 – Video Entry: valid for Musical, Singing, Tap Dance, Aerial Dance, Oriental Dance, Folk and Pizzica.
3.3 – Promotional Category: open to participants up to 7 years old who are not competing in other categories. Direct access without Selection. Takes place exclusively on December 8 in the morning.

PART 2 – CATEGORIES, DISCIPLINES AND REQUIREMENTS

Art. 4 – Participation Requirements
All AICS members are eligible, as well as members of associations, organizations or recognized sports federations, from the age of 6, with a valid sports medical certificate (not required for singers and musicians).

PART 3 – REGISTRATION AND FEES

Art. 7 – Accommodation Requirement
A minimum stay of two nights at partner hotels through Ranieri Viaggi Agency is mandatory.

Exceptions:
Residents of the provinces of Pistoia, Lucca, Pisa, Florence, and Prato: no accommodation required, registration fee: €115
Participants in the Promotional Category only (up to 7 years old, not competing in other categories): no accommodation required

Art. 8 – Video Entry Fees

First Video Entry
Solo: €30
Duo: €40
Group (3 participants or more): €60

Second Video Entry
Solo: €20
Duo or Group: €30

The fee is mandatory for evaluation by the Technical Commission and is non-refundable. It does not include registration for the Final.

Art. 8 – Special Fees for Promotional Category (without accommodation)

Solo: €45
Duo/Couple: €80
Small Group (3–6 participants): €90
Large Group (7–10 participants): €130 + €10 for each additional participant

Art. 9 – What the standard registration includes

Two choreographies in different disciplines/categories (except for Promotional Category without accommodation)
Access to masterclasses and conferences (excluding Aerial Dance classes, reserved for registered participants of that discipline)

Art. 10 – Additional choreographies

€20 per dancer for each extra performance (Solo, Duo, Couple)
€10 per dancer in groups, for each additional choreography

Art. 11 – Terms, Payments and Penalties

Registrations are non-refundable, even in case of illness
For bookings through Ranieri Viaggi Agency, cancellation policies apply as per official terms
Bookings outside the dates November 27-29 are subject to request and must be approved by the hotels
In case of event cancellation due to insufficient participants, all fees will be fully refunded

PART 4 – ACCOMPANYING PERSONS AND AUDIENCE

For those staying in partner hotels through Ranieri Viaggi Agency, entry tickets are included in the package.

Participation of Teachers/Instructors
Teachers and/or instructors are not allowed to compete alongside their own students. Violation will result in immediate disqualification.

Art. 12 – Backstage Pass for Accompanying Persons

Each registered school will receive 1 backstage pass for every 10 dancers/performers.
These passes allow access to the backstage area and must be requested during registration.
All accompanying persons wishing to access backstage must be included in the count.

Art. 13 – Public Access

Those not using the hotel package (spectators, external accompanying persons, etc.) may purchase tickets:

Saturday, November 27: €18 full / €10 reduced
Sunday, November 28: €18 full / €10 reduced
Monday, November 29: €15 full / €10 reduced – Afternoon ceremony and awards: €10

0–6 years: free
7–14 years: reduced

PART 5 – COMPETITION RULES

Art. 14 – General Technical Rules

Performances will take place with fixed white lighting
Final bows are allowed
No stage rehearsals are scheduled

Uniforms and Logos
Participants are not allowed to compete wearing uniforms or clothing displaying visible names, logos, or identifiable signs of their school or association.

Art. 15 – Music and Materials

Tracks must be in MP3 format (MP4 for video)
Each school must provide a USB drive with all files on the day of the event

Art. 16 – Photo/Video Recording

Not allowed for audience, teachers, or students
Authorized: Judges, Competition Management, official Photographer and Videographer, accredited journalists

PART 6 – AWARDS, JURY AND EVALUATION

Art. 17 – Awards and Recognition

Certificate for all participants
Podium (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) for each discipline and age group
Special talent awards
Scholarships and prizes exceeding €30,000
Awards for participating schools/academies

Art. 18 – Evaluation Criteria

Refer to the regulations of each category. The jury will evaluate technique, stage presence, interpretation, and choreography.

Art. 19 – Jury

Appointed by the Technical Direction
Decisions are final and unquestionable

PART 7 – COMMUNICATIONS AND LIABILITY

Art. 20 – Complaints

Only accepted in written form, with signed justification. The Direction will review and respond as necessary.

Art. 21 – Official Communications

Official updates and changes will be communicated via email by the Secretariat to registered schools.
General communications will be published on the official website, social channels, and newsletter.

Art. 22 – Contact with the Organization

Only official representatives may communicate with the Direction.

Art. 23 – Acceptance of Regulations

Participation in the Final implies full acceptance of these regulations. Any updates will be considered an integral part of the document.
