
RULES – STREET DANCE
1. Introduction to the Discipline
Street Dance is an urban art form that combines movement, rhythm, and stylistic freedom. Within the World Dance Competition, this discipline embraces all styles of the Urban Dance universe: hip hop, popping, locking, house, breaking, waacking, voguing, and more.
The BattleGum section is a separate moment, open to anyone — even those already registered in other disciplines — who wish to challenge themselves in a competitive format.
2. Admitted Categories
Choreographic Categories:

Small Groups: from 3 to 6 dancers

Large Groups: from 7 to 28 dancers
Age Categories (for solos):

Baby: 6–7 years

Mini: 8–9 years

Youth: 10–12 years

Junior: 13–16 years

Adult: 17–35 years

Senior: 35+
For groups, the average age of the members determines the category. The reference age is that reached by December 31, 2025.
Level Class: single level for all participants.
⚠️ Choreographers are required to pay special attention to the choreography and costumes, especially when minors are involved.
3. Performance Duration

Soloists / Duo / Pas de Deux: max 2:30 minutes

Small Groups: max 3:30 minutes

Large Groups: max 4:30 minutes
The soundtrack can be a mix of multiple songs and must be edited (“pitched”) by the school. Exceeding the time limit will result in penalties.
4. Music Submission Guidelines

A USB stick with backup tracks is mandatory at the event
Music files must be submitted starting from October 1st, when the Organization will send a Choreography Form link to all registered schools.
5. Scenery and Props

Props and small scenic elements are allowed (⚠️ glitter, confetti, and similar are not permitted)

Each group is responsible for quick setup and teardown

Delays that affect the event schedule are not allowed
6. Judging Criteria
Performances will be evaluated based on:

Technique

Choreography
-
Originality
-
Musicality
Scoring will be out of 10, with half points allowed. The jury’s decisions are final and cannot be appealed, unless a formal written complaint is submitted to the Competition Director.
7. Disqualification
Groups or individuals will be disqualified if they:

Exhibit disrespectful or unsportsmanlike behavior

Insult judges, staff, or other competitors

Fail to comply with safety regulations or event decorum
